Holiday update and Nighthold release

Merry Christmas!

I have had a busy holiday season so far and havent written much or played much. I will be going on vacation for the next 2,5 weeks and wont have time to play or write. I’ll still be reading discord and hanging on twitter, so join me there for some gold discussion.

Before going into some speculation I would like to thank every one of you guys who have visited my blog, asked me questions, commented, tweeted at me and talked to me on discord. It has been super fun and I can’t wait to see where the gold rush takes us in 2017.

Nighthold release

The release of Nighthold is coming just a couple of weeks into the new year. I am going to share my thoughts on the effects this and the release of patch 7.1.5 will have on the economy.

Nighthold release will add a new raid with higher item level. The return of mythic progress raiding and new gear will mean that all consumables and item enhancements will have increased demand. Enchants, gems, flasks, potions etc. will all sell better. Materials and prices will probably keep trending down over Christmas so take advantage to build up some stock while prices are lower.

Patch 7.1.5: New Artifact Knowledge catch-up

Patch 7.1.5 will introduce way better catch up mechanics for Artifact knowledge on alts. People will be much more likely to level and play their alts. Demand for both crafted gear and obliterum should increase. Dont be surprised to se fairly large spikes in the prices when the patch is released. Longer term I think this will keep the demand higher for these items as well. Although we expect all items to gradually become less valuable as time passes. If you can craft obliterum profitably I suggest stocking up. I only have about 100 at the moment and wont have too much time to stock up now, but I expect to buy up a ton of materials when I get back.

That’s it from me today. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! See you all in 2017!
