BfA goldmaking: Old World crafting: Twink enchants

Twinking is a popular way to play World of Warcraft, particularly when max level content starts feeling stale. This entails gearing a low level character to the teeth, including enchants and item enhancements.

Enchanting recipes

Over the years Blizzard has added an absolutely crazy amount of enchants to the game, with each expansion having it’s own set. They all scale differently and can be used by low level characters. This means that a level 19 twink will use enchants from across a bunch of different expansions. The list of possible enchants for twinks is incredible, with a huge number of options making this a great potential market.

Less crowded

Crafting old world enchants should be a significantly less contested market than max level enchanting. My recent server reviews have generally shown that BfA enchanting is extremely contested and very rarely profitable. So if you have had enchanting for a while there are some great options from your old expansions. Overall most goldmakers focus primarily on the current expansion, so staying behind in the old expansion items will help you out quite a bit.

Figuring out an approach

I took a look at the main twink community, XPOFF.com. By checking the enchant guide for level 19 twinks we can get a good approach to this market. In this one guide there are 5+ enchants listed for almost every item slot. This is just a massive number of potential items and trying to keep it in stocked will be quite a lot of work, so you probably won’t face many.

I made a simple TSM group for all of the enchanting enchants in this list. For other brackets there can be other enchants that have the best scaling. The twink community is a great community to sell to right now and the cost for old materials is generally quite low. This will not likely make you rich, but it can give you some recipes to work on and some things to do with your enchanter if the BfA recipes are terrible on your realm.

Getting started

I’d suggest starting by crafting one of each of the ones that show up as profitable on your realm. Then you can consider adding more volume as you get sales. Eventually you will figure out which enchants actually sell or not. I know some of the enchants here work, as I have been slowly selling of Marks of the Hidden Satyr I had left over from legion crafting throughout BfA.

Good luck and happy hunting!
