So after recording my TSM tip video I was thinking about how much I wanted to play classic. A thought struck me about using the character I made for that video to see if I can get enough gold for an epic mount without leaving Stormwind again!
The starting point
I had like 2 silver from leveling to level 5, and that was it. This puts your very early gold game into a very limited number of options. You need to generate copper/silver so you can start scaling into actual methods. The main thing you can do in town is to buy vendor items to sell on the AH, as well as looking on the AH for items you can vendor for a profit.
First moves
My first little profit was from buying a few items on the AH and vendoring them. I then eventually got my first real sale by selling a copper rod for 6 silver which costs 1 at the vendor. After repeating that I could level enchanting to 10, which is my main profession.
Disenchanting shuffle
Level 10 enchanting means you can craft the lesser magic wand. You can then look for cheap weapons on the AH to disenchant for greater magic essences, craft wands and sell them. I sold most of them to the vendor, but you can also sell them on the AH. I did this during prime time ish hours and got to 2 gold fairly quickly.
Scaling
Now we want to start utilizing the gold to go further. I’ve started looking for vendor recipes around Stormwind to sell, and I’ve also started buying up some materials that are cheap right now, but will be more in demand when players get to max. So far I’ve bought som Oily blackmouth, I also considered some Swiftthistle. I still need to do vendor stuff to get more gold, but I also want to start using the little gold I have to flip materials on the AH to increase my sale rates significantly.
