Tailoring is one of the best alt army professions! Cooldown cloth galore!

We are still in the pre-season and that is a peculiar time for concentration armies. A lot of the logic from TWW is not really relevant right now. Enchanting for instance is in the gutter, so let’s talk about why

There’s no hard end-game

One big reason is that the hard PvE endgame is not out yet. This means enchants, flasks and potions are not selling that quickly or that well. Some people are buying, but for the majority using a max quality flask for a very easy mythic 0 dungeon makes zero sense. This is also true for gems, weapon oils and other max quality performance items.

So what is selling?

There are some things that are selling really well, among them intermediate materials. One of the main high quality item types people are buying now is the rare profession gear. This means there is significant demand for a lot of different high quality intermediate reagents. Players need them to secure max quality tools, which are selling. They are also used for gear crafting, which some players could be doing, but that will truly take off with the season launch.

Enter the cooldown cloth

This leads us one of the best recipes in the game at the moment for concentration and normal crafting: The cooldown cloth from tailoring. Both bolts have relatively high concentration values still at almost 8 gold for me. On top of that the low rank version is quite profitable as well, as the basic cloth is used in a lot of recipes where quality does not matter.

The build

Cooldown cloth actually benefits quite a bit from knowledge investment. The basic build is 20 points into the base node in Nimble Needlework to unlock both recipes. Aracanoweave is generally better at the moment, but both are profitable just for the cooldown. After that you should go to Fiber Arts and max the multicraft node. After that you could either go resourcefulness in Fiber arts, or get more cooldowns by putting 15 points into Arcanoweave or Sunfire and then maxing the last node for that cloth type.

Profession equipment

You definitely want a rare profession tool with multicraft and a multicraft enchant. This will very significantly increase your profits, particularly when concentrating. For the other slots the robe is more useful as a rare, but the needle set you can just run an uncommon one unless you really want to min max.

The numbers

On a tailor I have with 20 points in the multicraft node and a rare tool I am looking at 650 gold profit per normal Sunfire Silk bolt and 950 gold profit per Arcanoweave bolt. Concentration values are 7g99s and 7g 49s, both of which are quite good for the current market.
