With the current low in terms of endgame markets now is the perfect time to get into some cosmetic markets.
Enter Decor crafting
Midnight added a ton of new recipes for various crafted decor for housing. Every profession has them and there are recipes that are easy to get and ones with barriers to entry. Getting ones that arent accessible to everyone will be a nice profit boost, but you will likely face competition across the board.
Lumber farming
All of the crafted decor recipes require lumber, which is a BoP material. This guarantees that the profit margin is quite high, as only other players who have farmed lumber can compete with you. For this guide I’m focusing on the Midnight crafts, so the main lumber to farm is Thalassian Lumber. I did a test run of this route in Harandar and in 10 minutes I was able to farm 37 lumber on a Death Knight, without access to Druids Flight form, which would speed it up. With that you could farm at least 200 lumber per hour.

Sale rates will be low
For cosmetic items the sale rate for any one item will be low. That means you want to get as many items up for sale as possible. With items requiring between 6 and 30 lumber, that does mean you will have to farm a lot of lumber, but it will take a while to sell off the results of an hour, so even just doing a little 10 minute lap per day will likely let you build up a nice stock of items.
Profit per lumber
The profit per lumber varies quite a bit, from around 300 up to 500 for the crafts I’ve checked. At the low end of 300 per lumber the gold per hour for lumber farming is quite decent at 60 000 gold per hour as a low estimate. With a druid and considering an average value your actual gold per hour is likely higher.
Use crafting orders
If you have a druid you should simply do all your farming on the druid. That will speed up the gathering and you can simply send yourself crafting orders to use your lumber to craft decor across all professions. This means it is better to concentrate your lumber on one character to speed up farming and posting.
Grab the recipes
There are a lot of recipes that you can grab, so make sure you look through your professions and prioritize the juiciest ones. I would always prioritize the value per lumber, so simply divide the profit by the number of lumber required and go for the highest first, before taking the ones with less profit per lumber. This will help maximize the value of your farming.
