Today we are looking at what you can do with tailoring to make gold in Mists!
What can you craft?
The main relevant crafts you have access to as a tailor are various cloth armor recipes as well as leg enchants in the form of spellthread. For armor there are three main groups of armor you can craft, the leveling set of basic uncommon armors, a level 90 entry level PvP set and various level 90 epics. The PvP recipes and epics are both gated behind leveling and playing your character as the PvP recipes are sold for Spirits of Harmony in the Vale and the epics require honored with the Golden Lotus. The same is true for the best in slot leg enchants.
You need to level your tailor to 90
All this means that you pretty much need to level your tailor to level 90 to get any meaningful benefit out of it. At level 85 you will not be able to craft any economically meaningful crafts in the current phase. In later phases the new PvP recipes come from doing the daily cooldown, which helps out, but some of those cooldown recipes are gated behind 90. In general you should work on level a lot of your crafters in Mists and this is particularly true for the armor professions.
Daily cooldowns are the way
The main profit is from the daily cooldown. Imperial silk is BoP and can be done once a day. It is used for either the crafted epics or for the spellthread. As of right now it’s worth between 300-500 gold per Imperial silk so you are making that every day if you stay on top of the cooldown. If you have an old alt army of tailors and the golden lotus commendation from your main then leveling them and farming the rep will give you access to very easy daily gold.
The PvP Gear
The PvP gear is selling for very low prices, but cloth is also very cheap. A lot of the recipes are showing profits and I have gotten several sales. Prices are a lot lower than they were in Cata, and in this patch the gear is a little on the low end Ilvl wise, but it can still be a nice supplement and restocking is quite quick.
