Today we will take a quick look at the current situation in enchanting in Mists and how you can utilize it.
Recipe unlocking
Enchanters get a decent number of economically relevant recipes while leveling your profession from the trader. This mostly includes the cheaper enchant slots like bracers and gloves. For the top-end enchants you need revered reputation with Shado-Pan for the weapon enchants and the August Celestials for the BiS bracer enchants.
Level 90 recipes
The top end reputation recipes are a lot more expensive than anything else and have by far the largest raw profit potential. If you haven’t leveled to 90 and kept up with dailies then it will take you quite a while to unlock them however. This helps drive profitability, but servers are large enough that the market is going to be competitive on every realm.
Level 85 potential?
Enchanting actually has some potential for a level 85 crafter. You have access just from the trainer for BiS enchants for gloves, boots, chest armor and off-hands. Most of these enchants are on the cheap side though, so the raw profit potential is limited, but they sell quickly, particularly now that the raid is out and upgrades are coming at a fast pace.
Daily cooldown
As an enchanter you can also craft a Sha Crystal on a daily cooldown. The profit margin for this was quite low, but with the top level weapon enchants coming out the price of Sha Crystals exploded recently, making this cooldown very valuable. I expect this daily cooldown will keep value quite a while.
The shuffle
You can also potentially shuffle materials to make some gold. Based on current prices on my realm the shuffle is yielding about a 50% profit if you are just buying materials. It is even the same for both the craftable jewelcrafting items. If you are doing prospecting then using the uncommon shuffle is an OK way to get rid of them, even if cutting them to sell the perfect cuts is usually a little better value.
