So I’ve been planning to start another 30 days to a token challenge and I’m getting close to being ready to get going!
The starting conditions
I picked my rogue, mostly to get an excuse to level my blacksmith to level 90 before the later phases of MoP. I started at level 85 with 150 gold and I’ll start the challenge with whatever gold and materials I have at level 90. I’m level 88 today and sitting on 3 500 gold. I also have alchemy leveled to 600 and Blacksmithing at 525. I think this is a reasonable starting point representing someone just playing the game casually, but I’m not starting completely from scratch.
Crafting will be king
I’m planning to rely mostly on crafting. Blacksmithing, alchemy and cooking will be what I have available, so hopefully I can find some good niches. I’ll also be doing dailies early on, both to unlock recipes as well as to help me build up some raw gold. I expect I will have to spend some gold on leveling my missing professions, so hopefully I have gold left over.
Reputation
I’ll be focusing on two reputations, the Klaxxi for the Blacksmithing recipes as well as the Tillers for the farm. I have blacksmithing which has a lot of very good Spirit of Harmony recipes, so getting to Exalted with the Tillers would be very nice. I do have the commendation for double rep gains, so it is possible. Regardless it is a nice bit of extra gold even just growing vegetables and I will be cooking. Outside of these two I don’t plan on focusing on any reputations as I can’t really get anywhere.
Blacksmithing plan
The blacksmithing plan is quite simple, get the PvP recipes, the belt buckle and farm for Spirits of Harmony if the other recipes are worthwhile. I will need a good bit of Spirits of Harmony, so I may do some Potion of Luck farming to generate them.
Alchemy plan
My Alchemist is a transmutation master, but on my realm sadly that is not particularly good at the moment. A quick check of my professions makes it look like potions are the way to go, as they seem very profitable currently, even showing some nice profits without potion master. Usually this is also a very high volume item so we will absolutely be swapping over to take advantage of this,
