I finally got my rogue to level 90 yesterday so the time to start the 30 days to a token challenge is now!
The rules
One character only
All legal goldmaking methods allowed
No need to make it complicated. The goal is to get a token in 30 days.
Starting point
My starting point is not from zero, but from a position that I think reasonably approximates the position a random player who decides to get into goldmaking would be. I ended up making 4500 gold from leveling from 85 to 90, so I’m starting with a bit more gold than I thought. I have alchemy at 600 already, blacksmithing at 525 and cooking at 365. So I will have to do some profession leveling .
Opening moves
I already outlined my plan, and the first things I’ll do is swap to potion mastery, start doing Tillers dailies and level up blacksmithing and cooking. This should put me in a position where I can put a couple of thousand gold on the AH right away, which is going to be quite important as I will have to churn through a lot of sales to get to the almost 50 000 gold a token is at currently.
Day 2 update
I’ve now done my opening moves and I’m at the end of day 2. As of right now I’m sitting on 1489 gold, but my gold has fluctuated up and down very rapidly as I reinvest all my sales into new ventures. I’ve gotten 6 600 gold in sales so far, with a majority coming from potions.
Crafting #1
I’ve mostly only focused on crafting, with one small other thing, which has been farming for Spirits of Harmony. I’ve done one hour total of spirit farming, which has yielded 4 spirits and thus 4 extra contender recipes for Blacksmithing. My Tillers reputation is at revered already, and I should be getting to songbell seeds in a couple of days, which will help out tremendously.
Massive restock
Today is Tuesday, which means tomorrow is the raid reset for EU. As such I have stocked up on potions today that I will be keeping around to post tomorrow, hopefully before raid. The potions are selling very quickly, but the raw profit is not too high, so I will need to sell about one hundred thousand of them total to get to the token, so I am supplementing with every profitable craft I can find.
