Today we will look at a specific mass crafting market that is quite intriguing, specifically mass crafting rank 1 items.
Consumables mostly
For consumables the difference between rank 1 and 2 in terms of stats is not that high. This is particularly relevant for potions which are quite expensive, and that you will use a lot of on a raid night. Many players are opting to save some gold by going for the slightly worse consumable. This saves them gold.
Skill doesnt matter
The nice thing about mass crafting low rank items is that you profession skill does not matter. You can always use the cheapest materials, and you do not need to level the skill portion of your profession. This means it is very easy to calculate and understand the requirements. Simply put your average crafting cost after multicraft and resourcefulness needs to be lower than the value of the items.
But stats do
On the other hand profession stats are crucial for this. You will generally need every multicraft source available and most resourcefulness sources. Generally speaking the profit per craft is usually lower than for mass crafting rank 2 items, which means that you will usually have less competition. This means that in some cases you can make a profit here even with less than optimized characters, but long term you do need every piece of multicraft and resourcefulness you can get.
The best professions
Consumables are obviously the top option here, with potions being the clear winner. Other items this can work well for are various intermediate materials. Gems and enchants have been options in the past, but in Midnight they are not great.
Show some examples
Here are some example numbers across my crafters. I do not have any epic profession tools outside of my enchanter, so the numbers are not indicative of the best currently available options.
Potion of Recklessness 18% profit (with just a rare tool)

Enchanting: 10-50% profit, higher profit on the very cheap enchants, which don’t have much gold value.
