I read every Wowhead class guide to find the most profitable items for 12.1!

I have spent some time going through all the spec guides on wowhead to look at embellishments and consumables so you don’t have to.

The best market research

The best market research in WoW is almost always to look at the guides that players look to. Wowhead is the main source alongside the class discords. This will let you know which consumables players will want so you can optimize your crafters accordingly. So I have gone through every class guide on Wowhead which have all been updated for 12.1 to figure out the most popular consumables, item slots and embellishments.

Alchemy consumables

For alchemy we have potions and flasks. The new recipes do not seem like they stack up to the old ones for potions, so every spec is either using Recklessness or Light’s potential, with some having the option to go for Draught of Rampant abandon. It is almos t a perfectly even split between Potion of Recklessness and Light’s potential so both will likely be good and getting a maxed out potion crafter is very good.

For the flasks it is a fairly even spread, with Blood knights being most popupar, followed closely by Magisters and lastly shattered sun. We’ll see if flasks continue being significantly less valuable than potions for concentration, but for mass crafting all of those 3 recipes will remain good.

Food

When it comes to food the question is do you want a main stat food or a secondary stat food. In the guides the skew is towards main stat, but a good chunk of specs recommend simming and I expect the difference to be low, that being said 33 out of 40 guides suggest main stat so that will be the main demand.

Enchants

For enchants I only included weapon and chest enchants, I could have done rings as well, but I stuck to the big guns. For chests it is almost just one option with 38/40 specs using Mark of the Worldsoul, and the last two using mark of the Magister. For weapons we have a good split with Acuity of the Ren’dorei being the most popular, followed by Arcane Mastery and Berserker’s Rage, with Janalai’s precision bringing up the rear.

Gems

With gems there are a lot more options obviously, so you can use the list below. Overall we see that the Lapis blue gems are by far the least popular, so focus on the other colours first with your knowledge. Some specs do use one of each color to enable their meta gem, but the list will still give good general recommentations.

Embellishments

For embellishments there is one absolute top dog in the Arcanoweave lining. This is used as the embellishment of choice for almost every spec in the game. A few specs use Loa Worshiper’s band with a Stabilizing Gemstone bandolier in stead and 3 specs use Adorned Fang in stead, but for the rest it’s the lining. Most specs also prefer a crafted weapon as the first craft and among the weapon embellishments it’s an even split between Darkmoon Sigil: Hunt and Hunter’s Ritual stone for the top spot. So if you have a blacksmith getting the Hunter’s ritual stone recipe can be worth it.

Crafted gear

For gear in general we see weapons dominate, alongside bracers. The top slots are the caster weapons and off-hands, so inscription should see good business once we unlock sparks. A few specs prioritize boots or belts, depending on their options from other sources. It’s also generally best to upgrade your worst slot, so gear demand will naturally be more spread out depending on what players drop from raid and m+. In general leatherworking hits the fewest specs with cloth and cloaks from tailoring winning out, and blacksmiths have weapons as well as the armor to get a boost.
