I made predictions before the patch, but today we will see how concentration numbers are looking currently.

Alchemy is the top dog

As expected alchemy is the best profession. Potion concentration values are reaching 3-5 gold depending on skill level. Some other recipes can also compete, for instance I am seeing similar concentration value for certain profession Phials on a flask crafter. In general you should probably be transitioning a lot of lower value professions to alchemy if you can.

The losers

Here I’ll quickly cover the professions that have very little or no concentration value. Tailoring is now completely dead as a lot of people can mass craft max quality cooldown cloth. There’s also almost no price difference on the materials. This means that for every tailoring craft swapping to lower tier materials does not actually reduce costs, so concentration here is pointless. I would personally lean towards ditching tailoring for all purposes except gear crafting orders.

Leatherworking has been bad the entire expansion, and concentration values are still non-existant. Stick to gear crafting if you want to keep leatherworking around.

Enchanting

Enchanting has gotten relatively bad for enchants, at least for the easy to make ones. Petrified roots have also been spiking a lot in price, which makes it a bit risky. Overall it is not too bad, but worse than I expected, particularly for a low effort setup. It is also the one profession where you can do mass catch up, so expect most hardcore goldmakers to have a full knowledge tree.

The other options

Jewelcrafting is still quite good, with many different options and still a significant price difference between qualities on materials. You have both materials and gems to craft as well. Concentration values are usually between 1 and 2 gold for me, but can be higher with better setups.

Inscription is shaping up to be quite reasonable. Missives are good at the moment as players are recrafting gear. The new vantus recipe is also an option, but a lot of the cost is in the petrified root. That being said since the 12.0 vantus rune also uses petrified roots you can actually save a bunch by getting those.

The best setup right now

The best setup from my professions looks to be alchemy + jewelcrafting. This can be good even at relatively low levels of knowledge, but it does scale well with profession gear and knowledge. I expect this will be the top dog for concentration also in 12.2, but we will see profits stay low
