The most important things to do now to get a goldmaking headstart in MoP Classic!

MoP launch has been announced, so let’s go through the most important preparation you should do to be ready for launch!

Prepare your alts

the best way to make sure you can catch any hot market in a new expansion is to be ready for all of them. This means having at least one of every profession available. You don’t need to be max level, you just need to get to the Pandaria profession trainers in Jade Forest and level to 80 to train the Pandaria version of the profession skill.

Level extra characters

If you have a lot of time and want to be really ready you should consider leveling more crafting alts. You would generally want to make them inscription/alchemy so you can do living steel and the darkmoon card daily cooldowns. This will cost you a good bit of gold to level the professions, and I can’t guarantee you make it back. That being said 100k darkmoon deck prices are not out of the question and with the inability to mass craft profit margins will likely be a LOT higher than in Cata, so if you can supply volume you should.

Stock up on Cataclysm items

This is something you can do from now an dpast launch. Some Cataclysm items will keep their value and can go up long term, after the price will bottom out some time either before or after launch. The exact time varies a bit. For Cata leveling greens the time before launch is probably good, whereas for cata herbs you would want to stock up some time after MoP launches. Items that will keep value are either cosmetic or tied to cosmetics or useful for leveling characters. Materials used to craft cool stuff as well as just materials to level professions in general will keep value quite well.
