My top 5 tips to a new goblin

Today I will go through my top tips for someone just starting out. This won’t be any detailed guide content, but just some more general tips on what to focus on.

1. Learn the tools

The best tools for a goldmaker is going to be auction house addon. TradeSkillMaster is by far the most powerful one, and I highly recommend it! It is daunting, but luckily there are plenty of resources out there, including my written guide as well as a ton of video guides. You can also join me or Gumdrops on stream and we will be answering your questions and may even show you how to make it work for you.

2. Focus on items that sell quickly

When starting out you want to focus on items that sell quickly. Generally speaking it is much more important to spend your gold on stuff that will sell in a reasonable time than items with the highest profit margin possible. 200% profit margin isn’t worth it if it takes you two weeks to get your gold back as you will miss out on a TON of deals in the meantime.

3. Don’t judge

A lot of people will think “why would anyone buy this?”. Don’t judge. What you would spend gold on is not universal. Other players value other things than you do. Don’t let your own ego stand in the way.

4. Do more of what works for YOU

Don’t focus too much on what others are doing. Do what works for you. If something works, it works. No point in trying to re-invent something that works. Look to others for inspiration, but always tailor it to yourself as well.

5. Have fun

Focus on what is fun. Doing something you hate just because it’s good right now is a great recipe to get burned out. There’s a reason why I don’t farm, and it’s because I don’t like it. So I focus on crafting, flipping and optimizing tradeskillmaster which is what I enjoy!
