Blizzard just released the most overpowered mount in the history, and the most expensive one from the in-game shop!
The Gilded Bruto
This is every gold makers wet dream. Getting both a mailbox and the AH anywhere is incredibly good. It’s particularly good for one of this expansions main lazy strategies, where you utilize loads of alts and use concentration. Being able to buy and pick up materials straight on the crafting station is significant time saver.
Is it bad?
I have to admit I do have something against the moung. Mainly the fact that the functionality of the gilded brutosaur is not available in game at all, outside of paying real money. The advantage is generally small-ish, except for those of us focusing on the economy in WoW. The money price is really high, and I would never consider buying it for euros, but since I have tons of gold lying around the choice is a no-brainer. I bought it for about 2.1 million gold worth of tokens, which is a steal. It’s cheaper than the original bruto, and better.
Massive token swing
Every rich goblin in the game probably had the same thought process. This mount is very good, and for what it offers, very cheap in gold. So they all went and bought tokens to get the mount. I expect tokens will normalize at the previous level eventually, as this won’t drive spending longer term, but it might be elevated a bit longer.
Whales are too good
Ultimately Blizzard, like most other game companies are looking for ways to target the whales. In cash shop land you want to find the players willing to buy everything they see and keep pumping new shiny monetized stuff their way. Revenue for most games with microtransactions is driven by the biggest spenders. We can expect more high-end cosmetics and other items from the shop. Riot has already done this with a 250$ league of legends skin, so don’t be shocked if something even more expensive shows up in a year.
